CTN Animation eXpo 2013

I had the most amazing experience last year at CTN expo!

If you enjoy or work in this world of animation, illustration, cartoons etc. You MUST go!

Three days learning, discovering and meeting the most interesting people and their work.

Here are some really nice people I had the pleasure to meet and chat;

Andreas Deja Live Demonstration:

One of the biggest animators of our time, he is know for animating the Disney villains; Scar, Jaffar, Gaston. He also animate Roger Rabbit, King Triton, Hercules and Lilo.

Tony Bancroft Live Demonstration:

Tony is the funny one, I laughed a lot at his live demonstration! He is so carismatic I had to go back to see his demonstration again on the next day. 

He animated Belle in Beauty and the Beast and also worked on Aladdin, The Lion King and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. 

He is also a film director, I bought his book there and its really great. 

Rick Farmiloe Live Demonstration:

He animated Abu right there in front of us! It is really inspiring to see someone we admire working. 

I asked for one of his drawings and he gave it to me with a sweet dedicatory.

He animated the character of Scuttle the seagull on The Little Mermaid, and also worked on The Prince of Egypt, Princess and the Frog and The Road to El Dorado.

I also had the chance to finally meet the great brazilian animator Sandro Cleuzo. I bought his books and was amazed by it! 

In the picture, there is also my teacher Paulo Ignez, another great brasilian animator.

There was so many interesting booths at CTN, you might think three days its enough...but is not!!

Disney, Dream Works, Sony and Nickelodeon

Last year I moved to Los Angeles to study at Gnomon School for 3 months.

I woke up one morning and decided to go visit the bug studios there such as Cartoon Network, Disney and Nickelodeon.

I also went to a tour to Dream Works with the CTN group. The place is amazing.


My character animation teacher at Gnomon and also lead animator at Sony, Alan Hawkins, took our class to a tour at Sony Pictures Animation, it was so awesome!

We had the chance to watch the Popeye's short and even go to his desk where he showed us the rigs and all the tools they use to animate Popeye and Hotel Transylvania!

The Mash-up is with Marvel characters.

My contribution is Celia Mae as Storm.

Os posters de apresentação dos personagens.
Terminei de renderizar metade do curta e já estou fazendo alguns testes de pós produção.
Também estou elaborando o poster do curta e capa do dvd. Logo mais irei posta-los.

Terminei de animar o curta! Falta apenas dar um refinada em alguma cenas.

Mas no momento deixei o 3D um pouco de lado para terminar minha demo 2D. 

Esses são captures de algumas cenas que ja terminei.

O cenário foi feito pelo professor Avelino, que me ajudou com a animação.

Ja tenho o Story Board, concepts e parte dos cenários mas ifelizmente estou sem tempo de produzi-lo.

Diamante Bruto

Essa é mais uma cena do curta. A falta de qualidade se deve pelo fato de ser um capture e não um render.
Na cena o Cap. Diamante convida a personagem Katia (uma ímã de geladeira) a descer, porém ela esta grudada a geladeira, uma vilã terrivel que a aprisiona a anos.

This is another scene of my short. The quality is bad because it's just a capture, not a render.
Here Capt. Diamond invites the character Katia (who is a refrigerator magnet) to go down and meet him,   but she is stuck in the fridge, a terrible villain that traps her for years.

Jump and Fly

Animação clássica feita no papel e finalizada no Toon Boom.

Gostei muito de trabalhar no Toon Boom, mais para frente eu posto algumas animações que fiz no programa.
